About the Foundation
The
William Lincer Foundation, a not-for-profit
Corporation under the laws of the State
of New York, was founded in August 1999
by former students and friends as a way
to honor the life and career of one of
this century's outstanding viola teachers
and performers. Funds to create and sustain
this Foundation are being solicited solely
from friends, former students, and colleagues
of Mr. Lincer. No funding has been sought
from the Lincer estate. Members for the
Board of Directors are drawn from former
students and associates, who receive no
compensation for their services. (Photo:

The Foundation seeks to achieve the following
goals, pursuant to the raising of sufficient
monies:
1) To maintain this Web site, which will
serve as a memorial for William Lincer
2) To establish the William Lincer Composer Competition, dedicated
to the expansion of the viola's repertoire, with prize money awarded
from the Foundation.
